Scholarship Information

Donna T. Darrien suffered from Sickle Cell C Disease. This determined young lady was an aspiring engineering student and a leader in her community. Since 2001,  the Donna T. Darrien Memorial Foundation for Sickle Cell, Inc. has offered scholarships to those individuals living with sickle cell disease and children of parents with sickle cell disease who are striving to achieve their educational goals.
In keeping with our mission, it is our goal to encourage our students and promote their pursuits by helping to alleviate the financial pressures of seeking higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must document his/her sickle cell disease diagnosis.
  • Must be a New Jersey Resident.
  • Must be attending, have been accepted, or applied to an accredited university, college, or technical/vocational school.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
  • Prior awardees can reapply if all requirements continue to be met.
